The number 7 in the Bible means perfect and complete. Nothing less. Nothing extra. It’s perfect. And it’s complete.


In the Genesis creation account, the Hebrew word translated as “good” is טוֹב (tov). While it doesn’t directly mean “blessing” or “favor,” it carries rich layers of meaning that resonate with those ideas.


🌿 What “Tov” Means in Genesis

  • Fit for purpose: “Tov” implies that something is functioning as it was intended. The gift created by God is aligned with God’s design and order.

  • In harmony with God: Some interpretations suggest that “tov” reflects a state of being in right relationship with God and creation. It’s not just aesthetically pleasing or morally upright—it’s whole, complete, and life-giving.

  • Absence of evil: In contrast to “ra” (evil), “tov” can be seen as its opposite—something that contributes to flourishing, peace, and goodness.

💬 Wondering Together

🌅 Day 1 – Light

Verse: “Let there be light.” — Genesis 1:3   It’s the first gift God made, and God said, “It’s good.”

🌊 Day 2 – Sky

Verse: “God made the sky to separate the waters.” — Genesis 1:6–8   It’s the second gift God made, and God said, “It’s good.”

  • What do you think about the second gift?

  • What made God say, “It’s good”? Blessing: 🌤️ We are blessed to have sky that holds clouds, birds, and sunshine.


🌍 Day 3 – Land and Plants

Verse: “Let the dry land appear… Let the earth grow plants.” — Genesis 1:9–13   These are the third gifts God made, and God said, “It’s good.”

  • What do you think about the third gift?

  • What made God say, “It’s good”? Blessing: 🌿 We are blessed to have land to walk on and plants to enjoy.


🌞 Day 4 – Sun, Moon, and Stars

Verse: “God made the sun, moon, and stars.” — Genesis 1:14–19   These are the fourth gifts God made, and God said, “It’s good.”

  • What do you think about the fourth gift?

  • What made God say, “It’s good”? Blessing: 🌙 We are blessed to have sun to warm us, moon to guide us, and stars to wonder at.


🐠 Day 5 – Sea Creatures and Birds

Verse: “Let the waters swarm with life… and birds fly above.” — Genesis 1:20–23   These are the fifth gifts God made, and God said, “It’s good.”

  • What do you think about the fifth gift?

  • What made God say, “It’s good”? Blessing: 🦢 We are blessed to have creatures that swim and soar.


🐘 Day 6 – Animals and People

Verse: “Let the earth produce animals… Let us make humans in our image.” — Genesis 1:24–31   These are the sixth gifts God made, and God said, “It’s good.”

  • What do you think about this gift?

  • What made God say, “It’s good”? Blessing: 🧡 We are blessed to be made in God’s image, with hearts to love and hands to care.


🌿 Day 7 – Rest

Verse: “On the seventh day, God rested.” — Genesis 2:2   This is the seventh gift God made, and God said, “It’s good.”

  • What is good about this gift?

  • Why do you think rest is important? Blessing: 🌼 We are blessed to have rest—a time to breathe, be still, and remember God’s goodness.



A Prayer of Creation Thanks

God of Life, Thank You for the gifts You gave us in creation:

🌟 On Day One, You gave us light—help us walk in Your brightness.

☁️ On Day Two, You shaped the sky—teach us to look up to you.

🌿 On Day Three, You gave us land and plants—help us learn to care.

🌞 On Day Four, You placed the sun, moon, and stars—remind us your mighty.

🕊️ On Day Five, You filled the skies and seas—fill our hearts with your joy .

🦒 On Day Six, You made animals and people—thank You for companionships.

⛪ On Day Seven, You gave us rest—help us pause, worship, and remember You.
