🎄Christmas Story (Luke & Matthew)

✨Part 1: The Angel and Mary

One day, a bright angel came to Mary.

The angel said, “Mary, you will have a very special baby. His name will be Jesus. He is God’s Son!”

Mary said, “Yes, I will do what God wants.”

So, Jesus’ name means God keeps us safe. (God saves. Yahweh saves.)

🌟 You say: “What is Good News?!”

🌟 Children respond: “God keeps us safe.”

✨Part 2: The Angel and Joseph

Joseph was worried.

But one night, while he was sleeping, an angel came in a dream.

The angel said, “Joseph, don’t be afraid. Marry Mary. Take care of her. The baby will be called Jesus.”

Joseph woke up and did what the angel said.

🌟 You say: “What is Good News?”

🌟 Children respond: “God keeps us safe.”

✨Part 3: The Long Trip

Mary and Joseph had to take a trip.

They walked and walked, all the way to a town called Bethlehem.

Can you say “Bethlehem”? (pause for kids to repeat)

It was a long trip. They made it to Bethlehem.

🌟 You say: “What is Good News?”

🌟 Children respond: “God keeps us safe.”

✨Part 4: No Room

When they got to Bethlehem, there was no room for them to stay.

So they went to a place where animals sleep.

Mary had her baby there.

She wrapped Him up and laid Him in a manger — that’s a box where animals eat their food.

🌟 You say: “What is Good News?”

🌟 Children respond: “God keeps us safe.”

✨Part 5: The Angel and the Shepherds

Out in the fields, shepherds were watching their sheep.

Suddenly, the sky was full of light!

An angel said, “Don’t be afraid! I bring good news! A baby is born — Jesus! He will bring joy to everyone!”

The shepherds hurried to see the baby.

They found Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus, lying in the manger.

They were so happy, they told everyone the good news.

✨Part 6: The Star and the Three Wise Men

Far away, some wise men saw a very bright star in the sky.

They knew it meant a special king had been born.

So they followed the star, traveling a long, long way.

The star led them to the town where Jesus was.

They found Him with Mary and Joseph.

The wise men were so happy!

They gave Jesus gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Dear God, thank You for sending Baby Jesus.

Thank You for angels, shepherds, and wise men who came to see Him.

Thank You for the joy of Christmas.
