Thanksgiving Story

Dear friends,

I have a very special story for you today.

It’s about having a meal with Jesus.

He wants children of God to give thanks,

Whenever they eat,

Whenever they drink.

We are going to celebrate Thanksgiving this week.

So, this is a good story to remember.

Jesus is a also a teacher.

He loves his students very much.

One night, he invites his students to have a very special meal together.

Because Jesus wants them to remember how much he loves them.

It is a meal of thanksgiving. It is a meal of love.

He sets the table.

He has bread and juice.

He puts the bread on the plate.

He pours the juice in the cup.

Remember, it is a meal of thanksgiving. It is a meal of love.

His students sit around the table.

Jesus says to them:

“Whenever you eat this bread, remember me.

Whenever you drink this cup, remember me.”

Remember, it is a meal of thanksgiving. It is a meal of love.

Then Jesus lifts up the bread.

He thanks God for the bread.

Then He lifts up the cup.

He thanks God for the drink.

Remember, it is a meal of thanksgiving. It is a meal of love.

So, let us give thanks to God:

For loving us.

For forgiving us.

For remembering us.

It is a meal of thanksgiving. It is a meal of love.

Dear God,

We love you.

Thank you for bread.

Thank you for juice.

Thank you for Jesus’ love.

Thank you for friends and family.

Thank you for school and teachers.

Help us remember Jesus every time we eat and drink.
